FAQ
How do I sign a PDF?
Open the PDF (⌘O, or drag it onto the window), create a signature with Add Signature… in the sidebar, then click the signature to place it or drag it exactly where you want it. Press ⌘S — the signature is flattened permanently into the document. Use ⇧⌘S (Export As…) to write a signed copy instead of modifying the original.
How do I photograph a paper signature with my iPhone?
Click Add Signature… and choose Take Photo under your device's name (Scan Documents and Add Sketch work too). Your iPhone wakes with the camera; the shot lands in your signature library with the paper background already removed. Both devices need Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on, the same Apple ID, and to be near each other.
The paper background wasn't fully removed. What now?
Right-click the signature in the sidebar and choose Edit Background…. Drag the slider toward Aggressive and watch the live preview over the checkerboard. You can also crop to the ink there. The original is always kept, so you can re-tune anytime.
Where are my signatures stored?
On your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/PDF Signery. Nothing is
uploaded anywhere — the app contains no network code.
Is that a legal digital signature?
PDF Signery places a visual signature into the page — it is not a cryptographic or qualified electronic signature. Whether a visual signature meets your legal or contractual requirements depends on your jurisdiction; see our Terms of Use.
Can it open password-protected PDFs?
Not currently. Remove the password in Preview first, then sign.
How do I clear the recent-files list?
On the app's home screen, below the list — click Clear List.
